Logix - Insulated Concrete Forms
What size are LOGIX forms?
LOGIX is available in 4", 6", 8", and 10" cavity widths. LOGIX 12" is scheduled to be released in the year
2008. Our forms are 48" long and 16" high, with half height 8" forms also available.

Is LOGIX training available?
Yes. LOGIX offers contractor training through our regional technical and marketing offices.  Click here to
check our upcoming events for LOGIX training at this location.

Do I need a vapor or air barrier?
No. The combination of concrete and two layers of foam means that the LOGIX wall acts as a natural
barrier against air and moisture.

Why should I build my home with LOGIX?
LOGIX forms create homes and buildings that are more energy efficient, stronger, more sound resistant,
and more environmentally sustainable than any other construction method.

Are CFCs or HCFCs produced when LOGIX is made?
No harmful CFCs or HCFCs or any other ozone depleting substance is let off during the production of
LOGIX forms. You can rest easy in your LOGIX structure.

How quiet are LOGIX walls?
A LOGIX wall has a sound transmission classification of STC 50, which is twice as high as a typical wood-
framed wall. Loud noises outside a LOGIX building will be reduced to a whisper inside the building.

Why is LOGIX better than stick framing at dealing with rot and mold issues?
Over the last 20 years builders have been asked to build tighter and tighter homes with the use of poly,
tape, caulking, gaskets and seals. When any one of these products is not installed perfectly moisture
gets into the wall cavity, which can cause mold and mildew problems and rot. LOGIX solves all of these
problems.

What is the R-Value of LOGIX?
The foam in LOGIX walls provides a thermal resistance rating of R-24. Due to the combined effects of
this foam with the high thermal mass and reduced air infiltration of an insulated concrete wall, LOGIX
walls can perform at significantly higher effective performance levels.

Isn’t it hard to remodel an ICF home?
Most remodeling contractors have the ability to cut openings into an ICF wall. Most tool rental stores
have concrete cutting saws for rent for cutting openings.

Why are LOGIX forms easier to build with?
LOGIX forms are the most builder friendly ICF forms on the market. Our thicker, more solid 2 ¾” foam
panels are standard on every form we make. This creates the strongest block available, better able to
withstand normal jobsite handling and the pressures of concrete placement.

How much rebar do I need?
This will be determined by the design parameters of the building, and in accordance with local building
codes. LOGIX can provide tables that provide a guideline for most common applications. These can be
found in our product manual.

Do I need to waterproof my wall?
Waterproofing will be required below grade level. We generally use either a peel and stick bituminous
membrane or a rigid “air gap” drainage board.

Is LOGIX code approved?
Yes. Every major code body in North America, including ICC and CCMC, has approved LOGIX.

Are LOGIX buildings safer than wood framed buildings?
Yes. LOGIX buildings are up to 8.5 times stronger than wood framed buildings. As a result, LOGIX walls
are much better able to withstand severe weather such as hurricanes and tornadoes. LOGIX walls have a
3-hour fire rating as opposed to 15 minutes for a comparable wood framed wall.
